Terms of service
1. Who we are, and agreeing to these terms
Kubbord is made by Night Shift Studio, Indiana, USA (nightshiftstudioapps@gmail.com). By using Kubbord you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live; otherwise a parent or guardian must agree for you.
2. Your account
Kubbord creates an anonymous account for each install, shown as your Kubbord ID. Keep your phone secure; anything done from your account is treated as done by you. You can stop using Kubbord at any time and delete your account.
3. Your recipes and photos: you keep them
You own what you create. Recipes you write, photos you take, comments and your nickname ("your content") remain yours. Private recipes are visible only to you.
When you share content with everyone, you give Night Shift Studio a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, copy, display, translate, adapt (for example converting units, resizing photos or fitting a layout), distribute and promote that content, in Kubbord and on other services we use to run and promote Kubbord (such as our website, Pinterest and other social media, app store listings and marketing), and to let our service providers do this on our behalf. We credit your nickname when we feature your content. You can turn off "Feature my recipes" in Settings to keep your recipes out of our social media and marketing.
When you unshare or delete content, it leaves Kubbord within a reasonable time (backups clear within about 30 days) and we stop any new use of it. On request we'll remove our own social media posts of it. Copies other people saved privately, or re-shared on other services, may not be removable by us.
4. What you promise about what you share
- It's yours to share: your own recipe in your own words, and photos you took of food you made, not copied from a cookbook, website, video or another person.
- It doesn't break anyone else's rights, including copyright, trademark or privacy. Don't share photos of other people without their permission.
- It's honest and safe: no instructions you know to be dangerous, no false health claims.
- It's about food. No spam, advertising, contact details, selling, or anything hateful, sexual, violent or illegal.
5. Recipes from other websites
You can import a recipe from a website into your own private collection, with credit and a link to the original. Imported recipes are for your personal use and can't be shared as Kubbord recipes, because their words and photos belong to their authors. You may share the link instead.
6. Keeping Kubbord friendly
Shared recipes may be checked automatically and by a person before they're public. We may decline, hide or remove any content, and suspend accounts that break these terms or harm others. You can report recipes, photos, comments and profiles, and block other cooks. We don't promise to review everything, and we aren't responsible for content other people share.
7. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on Kubbord copies your work, send a notice to our designated copyright agent at nightshiftstudioapps@gmail.com (subject "Copyright notice") with: your contact details; the work you own; where it appears in Kubbord (recipe name, the cook's nickname, or a screenshot); a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We remove reported content promptly and tell the person who shared it, who may send a counter-notice. We close the accounts of people who repeatedly share others' work.
8. Scans, nutrition, allergies and food safety
Kubbord uses automatic reading (including AI) for photos, receipts, translations and food matching, and estimates nutrition and costs. These are helpful estimates and can be wrong. Always check product labels, especially for allergies, and use your own judgment about whether food is safe to eat. Use-by reminders and "probably gone" are guesses, not food-safety advice. Kubbord isn't medical or dietary advice. Recipes shared by others are their own; follow safe cooking practices.
9. Kubbord Plus
Kubbord Plus is an optional subscription sold through Google Play. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. It renews automatically until you cancel, which you can do any time in Google Play's subscriptions; it then runs to the end of the period you paid for. Payments, refunds and billing are handled by Google under Google Play's terms. We may change Plus features or prices; price changes apply from your next renewal after notice, as Google Play requires. Free allowances (such as setup scans) may change.
10. Shop links and other services
Kubbord may link to shops and delivery services. Kubbord may earn a commission from these links. Purchases are between you and the shop. Kubbord relies on services such as Google, Supabase and Open Food Facts, whose own terms may apply to what they provide.
11. Using Kubbord fairly
No scraping or copying the recipe library in bulk, no attempts to get around limits or security, no automated accounts, and no use that harms the service or other people.
12. Disclaimers and limits
Kubbord is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise it will always be available, error-free or accurate. To the extent the law allows, Night Shift Studio isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for food that spoils, recipes that disappoint, or reactions to food, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the past 12 months or US$20. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
13. Ending, changes and the law
You may stop using Kubbord at any time. We may suspend or end access for breaches of these terms. If we change these terms we'll update the date above and tell you in the app about important changes; continuing to use Kubbord means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
