Beef and broccoli
A Kubbord recipe
Steps written by Kubbord
What goes in
- 300 gbeef
- 1broccoli
- soy sauce
- 2garlic
- ginger (optional)
How to cook it
- Slice the beef thinly across the grain, cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets, and mince the garlic and ginger.
- Set a large pan over high heat until very hot, then add the beef slices in an even layer.
- Sear the beef for 2 to 3 minutes, turning once, until browned on both sides and an instant-read thermometer registers 145°F (63°C), then transfer the beef to a plate to rest for 3 minutes.
- In the same pan over medium-high heat, add the broccoli and a splash of tap water, then cover immediately with a lid.
- Steam the broccoli for 2 minutes until it is bright green and tender-crisp when pierced with a fork.
- Remove the lid, return the rested beef to the pan, and add the garlic, ginger, and soy sauce.
- Stir-fry everything together over medium-high heat for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant and the soy sauce is bubbling and coats the beef and broccoli, then remove from the heat and plate.
