1. Set your oven to 350 degrees F and grease and flour a 10-inch tube or bundt pan.
2. Whisk the cake mix and cinnamon together in a large mixing bowl.
3. Stir in the eggs, water, and oil, then beat the mixture with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.
4. Gently stir in the squash and the walnuts if you are using them.
5. Transfer the batter into your prepared pan.
6. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, checking for doneness by ensuring the cake springs back when you press it lightly.
