Omelette
A Kubbord recipe
Steps written by Kubbord
What goes in
- 3eggs
- 50 gcheddar
- 15 gbutter
- onion (optional)
How to cook it
- Crack the eggs into a bowl and beat them thoroughly with a fork until smooth and uniform.
- Shred the cheddar, and finely chop the onion if using.
- Melt the butter in an 8-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat for 1 minute until foaming (if using the onion, add it to the skillet and cook for 2 minutes until softened and translucent).
- Pour the beaten eggs into the skillet and cook over medium heat for 1 to 2 minutes, gently pulling the setting edges toward the center with a spatula so the uncooked egg runs underneath.
- When the eggs are nearly set but still soft and moist on top, sprinkle the cheddar across one half of the omelette.
- Fold the uncovered half over the cheese and cook for about 1 minute until the cheddar is melted and the eggs reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C), then slide the omelette onto a plate.
